haha my previous post was pretty leng. shall continue toking abt obs but will try no to be so leng.

Tuesday

At nite i cldnt slp well cos it was the first nite and i was coughing like mad. went to find instructor and almost get to slp by myself. haha cos they afraid my cough will affect the other tentmates so they considered isolating me. but of cos in the end nvr. anyway in the morning woke up den started packing stuff for the trek. after having buns for breakfast we did a belaying practice. it was damn slack. den we had dry rations for lunch again, b4 given a map to decide which route to take for the trek to some asia quarry. we set off despite the rain. btw wanna thx mingwei for helping me carry my shoes and sandals. haha on the way saw some durian trees but the durians all damn small and unripen de.

At about 1700 we reached the campsite. it was beside a huge gate which separates the seashore and a piece of land full of small stones. and we are gonna pitch our tents on those small stones. so we put down our backpacks and changed into wet attire. den we carried some pipes barrels and ropes to another gate leading to the quarry. haha obviously we are doing rafting. so we were given 45 minutes to build the raft. if the raft can survive 4 tests: lift test, kick test, float test (and 1 more which i forgot), the reward is a dip in the quarry! haha so we all used square lashings but only mingwei ian dayong and i noe how to do it. so we had some problems trying to teach the rest lor. in the end we din manage to build the raft cos we were short of a few minutes to tie the final knot. but the instructors wont let us finish it. lol so we all return the stuff and by then was already 1830. we pitched our tents and cooked maggi mee in the dark. den had powder bath cos got no water supply there. later in the nite had debrief and went into tent to slp liao. but alas. after some 10 minutes in the tent a police vehicle came! haha we were asked to leave our tents and squat down. den the fat policeman told us sth like: 'do you noe dat you are in a wild-boar infested area? i jus saw 1 jus now on the way here. i can let you all stay provided dat you follow the 3 rules. no. 1. dun litter the place. wild boar are attracted to litter.' blah blah blah. 'no.2, if you see any suspicious characters arnd, inform ur instructor. dun act hero. i noe some of you like to act hero but dun confront them alone.' den third rule forgot liao. haha went back to slp and pon centric duty. cos we din noe there was centric duty.

Wednesday

wednesday was pretty ok cos we went kayaking half of the day! in the morning after morning circle with shackleton our buddy grp we went on the sea expedition, or wad they call sex for short. =X it was pretty tiring cos on the way we had to pass two boatage. the first one was jus a ledge abt 1 metre above the water level. but the ground wad damn muddy. second boatage was across a road near a Swiss gate. we had a break there b4 paddling further out in to the sea. on the way to camp 1 saw a jellyfish in the water. it was quite fat i thot. the whole thing was slightly bigger than alvin aw's head.

reached camp 1 and pitched our tents in a guailan forest. got a lot of fire ants and termites. besides our tent was on a sloping land. anyway went to shower and went for fresh dinner. haha dunno why they call fresh dinner but its jus canteen food lor. after dinner had a debrief and had green bean soup for supper. went back to tents and slp.

Thursday

at 3am i was awoken by tree leaves rustling. haha the wind was damn bloody strong. lol our tent was almost collapsing lar. so i woke the other tentmates and we all hold on to the vertical pole... abt half an hour later rain fell. somehow water leaked into our tents.. we all thot the fly sheet had flew away but apparently it had not. well anyway our tent became flooded with water. haha luckily abt 15 minutes later deedee camp and told us to evacuate. cos there were thunder and we were among the trees. so we grabbed everything, took our backpack and went to camp 1. on the way saw dat 1 tent along the shore had already collapsed. anyway changed to dry clothings and went back to slp at mph.

in the morning woke up and went for breakfast. den we went to unpitched our tents. along the way saw dat all the tents along the shore had collapsed. those among the trees only one collapsed. haha was quite shocked dat our tent was still standing. after unpitching our tents we went back to mph to do rock wall climbing. the wall was 10 metres bah. but it was quite easy as it was slanted.

after lunch went to do more climbing at the inverse tower. me and dayong did the zigzag log. haha yay i made it to the top. after climbing it was aready 1630 le. packed our backpacks again and began trekking back to camp 2. reached camp 2, pitched tents, cooked maggi mee plus instant campbell soup. haha after dinner showered and began cleaning up Raffles store. cleaned the mesh tins and pots den later went to help mingwei scrub the ponchos. there was a debrief and we went to slp.

Friday

everyone's excited. after morning circle we went to clean our store the final time. after dat we went to a kayak shed and had a final Raffles circle. we all filled up evaluation forms first. den there was debrief. deedee asked whether ernest and jeremy had been gd i/c and everyone clapped. den he asked if they think the trash i/c had done a gd job. everyone clapped too but i think half of them are lying. anyway we took back our valuables and received our grp photo and cert. den we went to shop in the souvenier(like spelt wrongly le) shop. bot a obs tshirt + a silver collar pin.

we waited at the shed until every grp gathered there. there was a final debrief which i rmb most clearly the line 'A ship in a harbour is safe, but dats not wad ships are built for' well anyway at 1230 lidat Raffles boarded the boat back to punggol pnt. Deedee was with us but he nvr alight at punggol pnt. he had been a nice instructor.. cant find the exact words to describe him but anyway jus wanna thank him one more time for taking care of our needs and guiding us thruout the 5 days. sry to have given him so much trouble.

waited for yw but somehow yz zy jx my came too. so we went to hougang mall to have lunch. after dat took mrt to douby ghaut where jx yw and me took 190 home.

Last saturday was carp. went to dover park hospice and sang songs. haha it was quite a nice experience but i felt foul after it. cos i made everyone laf when we were singing peng you. but today had a better experience. we sang more songs and it was quite happy to noe dat the patients are happy, except for 1 who rejected our singing by saying dat he is not feeling well.

anyway dats abt all i hav to share. haha seems to be losing the zest for blogging liao. a blog may be a gd fren to tok to but sometimes it hurts you more than how you previously felt.

nxt wk is gonna be a challenging wk. got physics test on tuesday, maths on thursday. and i'm involved in APMOPS as an usher! it sounds like a simple job but i have to wear full council u and the duties are quite challenging too. think i wont do a very gd job bah.

oh yar i failed my eng compre. my msg this term sure like shit de. i did a rough calculation and it was abt 3.1 bah. anything above dat wld be my worst msg so far in hwachong. haha

tmr's big walk. reminds me of alvin kuk and i got nth to say liao lor. monday go some ulu place to help him take 140+ tshirts together with yh because no one else wans to help. friday during training i got whacked by someone and instead of whacking dat person he came and whack me too. still say he whack me becos i'm selfish ego and likes to tok bad behind his back. haha i dunno lar. maybe i'm reli selfish and antisocial dat pple wanna whack me, especially nicholas loh. haha

gd luck to those taking A levels! and gd luck for those hu still have tests or are taking back their test papers!! haha bye bye
