Sec 3 Adventure Training Camp 2005

Day 1

Took a cab with yw to sch and reached at abt 6.10. after a while the bus came and we set off for changi jetty. this yr we used the new jetty, even got departure and arrival hall. anyway took the boat to ubin. trekked a different route to noordin campsite and settled down in some reli small 'hall'. actually its jus a very wide walkway linking the canteen and ci's lodge. gathered in our tent grps and went to collect tent equipments. haha my tent only 4 pple, including chenzy. den went to pitch tent. after dat got into our actual grps. this yr only 6 grps only.. so we had some ice breakers as usual and thot of a grp name and drew the grp flag. our name's daredevil >.< and the flag is simply the word daredevil in the center surrounded by our grp members' names. den the rations were given out and we had dry rations as lunch.

after lunch had map orienteering revision in preparation for land ex the next day. lol ci yizhi took us. basically we revised how to use compass and map. den we took pacing and practised man to man and man to object pacing. den we did some map grid reference stuff. after the map orienteering was kayaking. walked to bahru campsite and blah blah blah went the instructor toking abt parts of kayak and paddle. den had dry practice for the umpteen time. sian. after dat we finally launched the kayaks and had a mini sea ex. haha as expected the first 5 kayaks behind the leader are chinese high pple including me and yaozhong. haha

after kayaking was shower time + dinner. haha was sitting at the roadside with yaozhong watching the pdp pple running to the van. sian. feeling kinda jealous. but anyway they had parade mah. parade more impt than camp. haha. anyway our grp lost our flag. but somehow nvr kena scolded by ci. the wci was very kind and patient with us. jus said dat she will observe our behavior for the nite and the nxt day b4 returning our flag. den we had a game or cat dog snake. its kinda okay lar. afterall the cis spent a long time planning the camp rite? cannot jus say its ____ mah. after the game had campfire songs preparation. yapo the dog, frogs and PER-ly shells.

after dat we had a lecture for misbehavior. it lasted some 20 minutes or longer. a few pple fainted. after dat lites out for day 1 le. now dat zy left, only 3 pple in my tent.. me, jian da from sji and francis from ghimmoh. lol and francis is like the npcc version of shiwei..

Day 2

woke up at 5.55. packed a bit of my stuff, grabbed water bottle and report for flag raising le. after flag raising had pt led by ci weishu. some warm-up exercises and its over le. cos a lot of pple din eat well the previous day. after pt came breakfast.

handed a plastic bag of stuff to yaozhong hu carried for me and daryl thruout the land ex. anyway it started at 8. dun reli wanna tok abt it cos its kinda boring. walk here walk there, find checkpoints, play game, den move on. still rmb vividly baby tan ah teck, a.k.a Moses in a Cradle. lol

reached campsite again at 3.15. had an hour+ to discuss grp item for campfire. our grp item is stupid lar. cos dere's a stupid theme = movies. after the hour+ went for shower and dinner. after dat was 6.40. forgot wad we did. think we did nth but went for campfire straightaway.

campfire was quite fun. hah the campfire cld not be lit at first. but later the ci meng pour kerosene. anyway all the items quite okay lar. at least better than ours. let me describe our skit.

it started with a bunch of pple fighting and killing each other with torchlights, aka lightsavers. den out of no where pop out bruce almighty and said 'i got the power!!!' den those hu survived oso dropped dead. den the narrator explains dat bruce realised his mistake and bruce went 'alamak' like in the yapo song. den he started dancing while singing staying alive. den we all revived and danced along with him. the end.

after campfire we had debrief with ms kala and ci weishu. den we had our daredevil debrief with ci jj. after dat dere's yet another debrief if i'm not wrong. after dat lites out. our tent still got 3 pple while all the rest had 4 or more...

Day 3

woke up, had flag raising and another slack pt. after dat had breakfast. den unpitched tents, clean tents, fold them nicely and put them by the roadside. after dat was area cleaning. my grp in charge of standardizing folding of tent sheets. so we went to check and refold all the tent sheets lor. after dat return them to the store. den there was a short debrief and we broke camp. walked all the way back to jetty and took boat back to changi.

took bus no.2 to bugis with daryl ws my gy yz hh and had lunch at kfc. after dat went home le.

this yr's atc is quite fun bah. haha its jus a very normal camp lar. except dat the amount of mosquito this yr is overwhelming. but it wasnt as fun as last yr's, like my prediction in last yr's entry "There may still be a sec 3 ATC next year, but i doubt that it will be as nice as this." If you wan you can go look at last yr's entry, but its damn damn damn lame and its in formal english so you'll puke.
