now that i've passed out of npcc, i cant help but to think of the 4 years of my life in it. this is going to be a long entry..

in 2003, i was sec 1, and i was very blurr. like the person whom my picture resembled back then.. training was on saturdays, so every friday while all the rest hav ep3s, we rush home at 1.30! the ncos were yen song and ze han, and not forgetting the most feared ci, kok hongyi. blegh >.< everytime got gals pass by during our trainings, this kok hongyi will suddenly scold us. scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold knock it down! scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold until gals walked away liao.. up! clean ur hands some more! down! scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold scold then recover. once.. the 2nd time we wore full u, i went out into the open without beret on, damn suay, let him see. we fall in in front of clock tower, he asked: 'who was the one without the head dress on just now?' i admited. 'why?' 'forgot, sir' then i still rmbed wad he said.. 'forgot? how can you forget? can you forget to have dinner? can you forget to wear ur underwear?' . . . . . . . . 'whole squad down 20!' lol.

so after that training i got a phobia of coming for training, every saturday morning after i wake up will keep thinking abt the cue table, see if sessions slack or not. then eat breakfast oso stomachache.. aiya, sec 1 that time very noob. though i kept worrying abt trainings, i did not pon trng lor... ncos were good, especially yen song.. ze han arh, very malu. there was one incident when he did not come for training. becos he hurt his knee while trying to cross the fountain at concourse, and obviously he failed..

in july or august yen song, ze han passed out, but kok hongyi didnt! the cis who passed out were ying feng, chek wun and some other ulu guy. and came our new ncos, yixue and philip. these were reli nice guys lar. and term 3 we had swimming for leap! it was DAMN fun! cos we go every friday to jurong sports complex, then swim for 2 hours or so.. then next day can miss training. i guess thats the highlight of our sec 1 npcc life..

in november (or was it september?), we took lcp test.. i failed lar, lol, and wilson oso fail. ten zhiyong failed, law chunyin failed, hin chong failed, got arnd 10 pple failed lor. ci junyuan was taking us for stationary drill section, he said to me this: 'i'm not assessing you for marching, but if you're gonna march like that i assure you'll fail the other section.' after that he gave me bonus point cos i was the first person who knew how to get the squad (some sedia, some senang diri) back to the same position. but in the end still fail.. lol.

in december there was unit day, and it was conducted in an amazing race style. yay, it was actually kinda fun, our uig group got philip as our accompanying senior, still rmbed we had lunch at long johns at causeway, we went suntec city, lot 1, etc etc..

on to sec 2s, training no longer became a phobia. kok hongyi didnt scold us as much as b4, cos his focus was on the then sec 4s (chao rong's batch). the new sec 1s came, was kinda excited to hav juniors. jia han was the first junior i got to noe, cos he was in my uig group.

lcp promotion test was in march or april, but due to apmops, aphelion pple cannot sign up. so i was still rankless. then kok hongyi finally passed out, chao rong's batch passed out, the 2 SIs were chao rong and min jie, and the buc was kenneth. ee.. but anyways, i still rmbed two incidents during sec 2. first one was on a saturday, i was coming for training, on the bus i met min jie! i daoed him la.. then i fell aslp on the bus. . . . . then bus reached sch! i was still slping. then i heard someone shuffling his shoes against the floor, and yes, it was minjie. so i woke up and alighted the bus in time for trng.. yea, its a small incident, but i can still rmb..

2nd incident involved yizhi, it was during pt, we ran namly. on the way back pass the boarding sch, i was tired like shit, so i walked. then yizhi came to me and said 'are you okay?' i nodded, and he said 'ok, jiayou, a little more to go!' then on the way back to parade square he ran beside me, and whenever i stopped he wld jog beside me and spur me to go on. yes.. yizhi rox lar.. doubt you'll be reading this yizhi but i still rmb that incident and thank you for being such a nice person! =)

atc was in june, posted a very long entry on that.. i was made foxtrot i/c. LoL, which i suck at it.

new ncos came, jing kang and juan boon.. these guys rock my socks. at first we all dun like jing kang (sorry if you're reading this!), becos he gave 3 principles during the first training. we were at multi storey carpark, he said 'i have 3 principles during training. firstly, respect. *elaborates on respect* secondly, discipline. *elaborates on discipline* finally, fun. i included fun becos i want yall to hav fun during trngs, but i put it last becos its the least important. after that everyone niao him for a few weeks. >.>

but as days passed i found him to be a nice guy afterall, yeah.. haha pple do change, and pple's impression change even more frequently. rmb once during uniform check, there was a super long thread on my uniform. i was looking at it, then i went oh shit. so i quickly twirl it arnd my button when the ncos were not looking. then jing kang came to check my u, and i passed.. phew. after that got wind blow. and the thread became exposed! and damn suay, jing kang saw and came back, these were the exact words he said: 'ay brother, wads this?' then he pulled out the super long thread. and zhiyong(ten) who was standing beside me tried to defend me by saying he tried to snap it, but it didnt. in the end both of us kena pumped 20. lol.

at the same time a really nice CI came back to the unit, none other than CI isaac. this person reli left a mark in my life.. i cant seem to find the exact words to describe him, but he reli was a mentor, a fren and an inspiration then.

in june we had kayaking courses at east coast. once after leap we went marine cove to bowl. i think i bowled a score of 11 and 17. but those were the 3rd and 4th games in my entire life. and since then, my interest in bowling developed..

took lcp test in september, and i passed! wilson and ten zhiyong oso passed.. in december, i participated in bowling com.. haha, got a score of 190 and individual 30th i think. blegh.

oh yar, before i forget, calvin soon joined the unit in this year, together with our current OC.

in sec 3, we got to noe tsai tsung chieh, and we super buay song him. why? becos he got cb face and the way he speaks to juniors is gl. its like saying, 'look, i'm ur sir, you do wad i tell you to do and dun argue back.' he was logistics head and campcraft fi. so when he organised weekly duty roster for cleaning the npcc rooms, everyone pon. i mean everyone, including his own squadmates. so during exco meeting he kena screwed like his surname (tSAI). and this happened for the 2 exco meetings we've sat thru. so at that time no one dared to put logistics as the department they will join. but anyway, the year passed super fast and pretty soon was all the pre-inaugural training shit. then it was our turn to take over exco, i got the positions of log head and sec 1 nco, and i almost cried when i was put in log. seriously. but in the end i didnt.

the first thing i did as log head was to sweep the conference room. second thing i did? clean up both rooms, spent a total of 6 hours, which of cos wld hav been longer without the help of yong wei, yinghao, minyang, shuoyan and zhiyong(chen). but it was a good sacrifice, the rooms were given a facelift, and the cis were impressed. on one occasion tsai came back, and when he entered the trng room i think he was super zibei. cos he didnt breathe a word for the next 10 minutes.

pretty soon log cleared its bad reputation, tancw and cis were impressed by our work. alvin tan didnt reli care, cos he was super slack! but life in npcc under his charge was super fun! at least the trainings then were more organised, more efficient, ncos and exco were very effective in doing their stuff (esp. chaorong's batch). [btw i'm not trying to imply anything here]

pretty soon we saw the rise of tancw, he came into power in february 2006, and became, and still is, the OC Unit for Hwa Chong Institution National Police Cadet Corps Unit. np life became miserable when we're in sec 4. [look. i'm not drawing any links between our new OC and npcc life being miserable]. there were tons of exco work, i had a new squad to take care of.. my studies dropped like shit, and sch life aside, many things happened in my family. it was reli a depressing period in my life.

campcraft com was the highlight of my entire npcc journey. it was thru campcraft com that i got to noe the sec 3s, pple like chuan khim, lincoln, jon neo, jeremy ang, ding chun, etc etc. but it was oso ccc that brot along many unhappy incidents. like the tiff-off between me and wilson. but overall it was a very very very fun part of my npcc life.. despite not entering the finals, we all had put in utmost effort, especially our beloved yi zhi sir!

on 30th august 2006, we saw the passing out of the sec 4s as well as two very inspirational CIs, chao rong and yi zhi. indeed, npcc has changed much throughout the years. the organisation, the pple, the places.. i reli dunno how to sum it all up. but i have not regretted joining npcc.

still in a dilemma as to whether to come back as CI or not. and yes, i have the next buc in mind le.. shall recommend him to the current cis..
